Choose a timeAccounts and tax for Exeter landlords and businesses
Exeter has a large rented housing market, much of it let to students and staff at the university. If you are a landlord in the city, we prepare your tax return for property you own in your own name, or the accounts and corporation tax return if your properties sit in a limited company.
Thinking about buying your next property through a company? We can run the numbers with you first. A company is not always cheaper, and the answer depends on your income and your plans for the property.
For the city’s contractors, consultants and growing companies, we handle the year-end accounts, payroll for directors and staff, and VAT returns.

Questions from Exeter
Do you work with landlords who own property through a limited company?
Yes. We prepare the company accounts and corporation tax return for properties held in a company, and the self-assessment return for anything you own personally. Plenty of landlords have both.
Will Making Tax Digital affect me as a landlord?
If your gross income from property and self-employment is over £50,000, it has applied since 6 April 2026. Over £30,000, it starts on 6 April 2027, and over £20,000 on 6 April 2028. We can sign you up and send the quarterly updates for you.
Do I need to meet you in person?
No. Most of our work is done by phone, video and email, and where applicable we meet face to face.
